Lenovo ThinkPad T400

I'm using this computer since 2010, and it has been the king of reliability. I adore the rock solid architecture and functional design. This computer is my main workstation setup with Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003. It runs a bit slow but well although a lot of corporate stuff is running on the background. I use it at home, at the office, on the field (in the surgery room connected to lasers or over my cars trunk with a mobile connection, or often in a Starbucks Coffee). The main feature I expect from a laptop is reliability and functionality. The build quality is really satisfying. The lid is coated with a Teflon material so its very hard to scratch. Also its not a problem if you spill water or any cold liquid on the keyboard, because there are drainage holes on the bottom (I never tried or experienced it though). I also like the dedicated buttons for volume adjustment, and the ability to use both a track pad and a classic red TrackPoint. This model is equipped with In...

iPad mini WiFi + Cellular

I generally write down my personal experiences with the products I'm using. Since it's been only a short while that I'm using my iPad mini, I don't have a lot to say, but this review will grow up with time. My first impression with it however is fantastic! I'm using Ozaki's protective cover both for front and back, as Apple's smart cover for iPad mini is only for the screen protection. I assume there will be more options on the market in time.

Processor: Intel Pentium M 1.5 GHz Memory: 256.0 MB / 2.0 GB (max) Hard Drive: 40.0 GB Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Display Type: 15.0 in TFT active matrix Max Resolution: 1024 x 768 ( XGA ) Graphics Processor: Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Shared video memory (UMA) Optical Drive: DVD-ROM - Plug-in module I've upgraded the memory to 1.25 GB and this helped the system speed up considerably. Also after around 3 years, I've replaced the battery. Apart from the original operating system, I tried several others as dual boot: Ubuntu 10 works like a charm, 11 also works fine. However, Ubuntu 12 encountered several problems during boot, so I de-installed it. I also tried openSUSE 12.2 and it worked successfully, but I had some problems with wireless network connection so I decided also to skip this one. Debian 6 installation also failed in my opinion, due to unsuccessful recognition of network drivers. Although the system was running quite smooth, I consi...

How to Make Your Own Hard Cover for iPad mini (Do It Yourself Project)

This is a simple way to covert an old book into an iPad mini hard cover. Your new cover will be unique, functional and will cost nothing! It will also keep your iPad mini safe from theft by making it look like just an old book. Thiefs don't like books! Here are the steps you need to take: 1. Find an old book with a slightly larger size than your iPad mini. The book should also be thick enough to have room to insert the iPad mini in between paper layers. 2. Remove some chapters from the book by easily pulling out, or cutting by a sharp knife. You must remove the chapters in the middle, so that the iPad mini will be "sandwiched" in between the first and last chapters. 3. Insert your iPad mini to see if the gap is enough to keep the book in the same size when it is closed. 4. Continue removing pages until you have enough space to insert the iPad mini, but not too much, otherwise it will cause the book's overall size to shrink. 5. Find an elastic strap to put aroun...
